Does TED® Hair Restoration Really Work?

Does TED® Hair Restoration Really Work?

Your scalp hairs are in a continual state of growth, loss, and renewal. It’s normal to lose 50-100 hairs per day, as old hair falls out to make way for new hair.

But if you lose more than that, you may have noticed your hair thinning and the hairs left in your brush or comb increasing.

Maybe you’re losing hair at the front of your head — known as “male pattern baldness, " though it affects some women, too. Or maybe your part’s widening, which is typical for women.

No matter where you’re losing hair, if you have less hair than you used to, you’ve probably tried or been tempted by treatments and solutions you’ve found on the web or at the drugstore. They probably haven’t worked.

As part of our Sirens Medspa in Somerville, New Jersey, the Rheumatology Center of New Jersey offers hair restoration. One of our most effective treatments is noninvasive Alma TED®.

How does TED hair restoration work? And does it really work? Read on to find out.

What’s TED?

TED is an acronym for trans-epidermal delivery. In this noninvasive procedure, we use a device that sends low-level electrical currents into your scalp. The electrical charges open up microchannels in your scalp skin.

Once those microchannels are open, we deliver active ingredients to help restore your hair follicles. This is a much more efficient delivery system than simply rubbing a topical treatment on your scalp.

With TED, your follicles get the nourishment they need to restore and revive. Soon, they can produce hairs again.

TED is fast and pain-free

You don’t have to book an expensive and painful hair transplant. We don’t have to rip out hairs from other areas or take grafts from your scalp.

The noninvasive TED treatment only takes about 30 minutes. You may be able to see a difference in hair growth after just one treatment.

You also don’t have to worry about pain or trauma to your scalp. You may feel tingling during your treatment, but there are no incisions, stitches, or injections.

TED is patented

Our Alma TED treatments are FDA-cleared to restore hair in both women and men. The tip of the Alma device is also patented. That means no other TED device can work as efficiently to deliver nutrients and medications to your follicles than the Alma TED.

To get a better sense of how effective TED is, visit Alma’s website and scroll down to the before and after photos. You can see significant improvement in hairlines, parts, and overall density after just 2-6 treatments.

When surveyed about their results 50 out of 50 patients in one clinical trial were satisfied, while 97% percent said they noticed reduced shedding, 96% saw new growth, and 89% reported greater hair density.

In another clinical trial, three treatments led to a 31% increase in hair density at six months. Nobody reported any pain or adverse effects. Alma TED also features TED+ Haircare to add shine and strength to your hair.
